Kenya and Ethiopia Sign Landmark AfCFTA Agreement to Boost Cross-Border Trade

Kenya and Ethiopia have taken a significant step toward deeper regional economic integration with the signing of a bilateral agreement to implement key aspects of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The deal, signed this week at the Moyale border town, establishes a framework for a Simplified Trade Regime (STR) designed to streamline cross-border commerce, particularly benefiting small-scale traders.
